When you think about all the ways that you can improve your oral health, it is important to remember that caring for your teeth and gums should be something you do every single day. If for any reason you begin to neglect your teeth, you may find yourself putting your teeth and gums at an increased risk for problems, which is especially true during cold and flu season.

If you find yourself suffering from a cold or the flu, you will need to continue to care for your teeth and gums. Because you may have decreased energy levels, it may be easier to use things such as electric toothbrushes and water flossers. If you find yourself throwing up, your teeth will be exposed to acids from your stomach which can damage the enamel of your teeth. When that happens, you should avoid brushing them for 30 minutes, and instead your mouth with a salt and water solution or a mouthwash.
